About ICDERS

ICDERS is a leading international symposium dedicated to detonation, combustion, explosions, and reactive systems.

For more than five decades, the International Colloquium on the Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems (ICDERS) has been one of the leading international events dedicated to explosions, detonations, combustion and reactive systems.

Held every two years, ICDERS brings together researchers, engineers and industry experts from around the world to share the latest advances in the understanding of explosions and reactive phenomena. The 31st edition will take place in La Rochelle, France, from 18 to 23 July 2027, continuing a long-standing tradition of international scientific exchange and collaboration.

Unlike more specialised scientific conferences, ICDERS provides an interdisciplinary platform connecting fundamental research with engineering and industrial applications, and fostering exchanges across combustion, detonation, reactive flows, propulsion and explosion safety.

ICDERS 2027 will also offer opportunities for industry engagement, enabling organisations to showcase their expertise and technologies, connect with the international scientific community and develop new collaborations before, during and beyond the colloquium.
